Set in the grounds of what was formerly St. Joseph’s Girls Boarding School our school is a fusion of the traditional and the modern. Maintaining the facade of the magnificent old building in 1998 with the amalgamation of both schools a new wing was incorporated to the side and rear of the mature structure.

The school is proud to offer a large variety of both academic and extracurricular facilities on a recently extended and renovated campus setting. All classes take place in spacious rooms which are fully decorated in line with the wide variety of respective subjects offered within.

The college recently installed interactive whiteboards in many classrooms to enhance the learning experience for students. In addition, a state-of-the art Science Laboratory, brand new Music and Transition Year room were added in 2010. Specialist

classrooms include 2 Science Laboratories, an Information Technology Lab, Home  Economics Room, Metalwork and Engineering Room, Technical Graphics and Computer Aided Design (CAD) Room, Woodwork Workshop and Geography Room.

All rooms within the school have networked broadband internet access with terminals to accommodate all students. In addition a wireless network exists also. Our computer facilities are continuously updated in order to keep students up to speed with advances in the area of information technology.

The school is in the fortunate position of having a purpose built school gymnasium exclusively available on a daily basis for both PE classes within school hours and after-school training sessions. Coláiste Ióseaf also sets on a spacious site that affords outdoor sports pitches, basketball courts and tennis courts. Additional amenities within the main campus building include an oratory, and two Learning Resource classrooms.

The college has recently renovated our canteen to allow for increased student seating and to provide modern dining hall facilities. This investment allows students to avail of a clean and safe environment to have their lunch. The canteen shop provides many healthy eating options for students. Lockers are provided to each student at the start of the academic year to ensure that students are not burdened down by the increased weight of school books.

Coláiste Ióseaf sits exclusively on the outskirts of the town of Kilmallock and our grounds are walled  extensively. As a result of the services we provide within the campus and in awareness of student safety our students are not allowed to leave the school grounds during the course of the school day unless on official school business and accompanied by a teacher.
